Considering it began while I was eating breakfast (wild stuff - Killer Dave's 21 Whole Grain bread), I'm assuming it was esophageal. Am I sticking my head in the sand or what? LOL I still have a dull ache even now but it's so much better than before.
As I said, I've never had reflux or stomach problems before. I can eat just about anything with no after effects as long as I don't overeat (duh). Then again, this isn't stomach.
No, I didn't take the med. Not a big fan of pills unless they're needed.
And I owe you one Flycaster. Tomorrow is a quiet day for me. Finally. . . .
There isn't much difference between angina and Esophagus pain. I'm a veteran of both heart and GERD issues, and was 'fooled' earlier this year by going to the ER thinking I had the mother of all angina attacks when actually I had a problem with an esophogeal spasm. A motility test, then an endoscopy test showed problems with GERD and as you know, I had Nissen Fundoplication surgery which has been quite successful. I have never had 'typical' acid reflux symptoms of heartburn, but a spasm of the esophagus feels like angina, reacts with nitro like angina. Sorry, you just have to treat chest pain as a heart problem and let the doctors and their blood tests sort out what is going on.
Have you tried the Cardizem yet? Even if so, that doesn't answer your question, does it? I mean if it works for both. What does your head tell you? It's the fact that it is a "dull" ache down the middle that would bother me. Are there any "triggers" you can think of? So many questions and not a lot of answers for you. I'm sorry. Ally
