Chest pain with dizziness and swelling of face

My father in law is 81 years old and suffered a heart attack a few years ago. He used to be a chain smoker and quit after his first attack, last night he complained of severe chest pain and dizziness and his face is swollen, Is this serious?

The sign and symptoms your in law has can be due to a kidney or a heart disorder.  If related it is the result of retaining fluids and that will cause edema at any part of the body.
