Children with history of MVP

If there is a large percentage of your family with MVP and since I have it and must be medicated prior to dental work, in cases with moderate to servere regurgetation, would it be a safe thing to say that children with this type of history should have an echo done to be safe due to deaths that are related to MVP and micoinfections even without symptoms?
