Cholesterol Blood Test - Can you help me?

I recently received my blood in the mail, but I won't  be meeting with my dctor until end of March.  I am a healthy 41 year old female and have a history of mitral valve regurg/prolapse.  Other than that I am in good health.

Can you tell me what these numbers might mean. I know somewhat the range, but I'm concerned about my risk factor.
Total Cholesterol: 213
Triglycerides: 45
HDL: 93
LDL:  121
Ratio 2:3

First, There is a difference between what UNITS are used between countries, so where do you live?.  I don't remember what the other countries use, nor do I know what "good" numbers would be but here's the US...  (what is "good" is constantly being changed).

Total Cholesterol= 50-180 "mg/dl"
Triglycerides=.......30-150  mg/dl
HDL=...................40- 60   mg/dl
LDL=....................(don't have this info)
Ratio= ratio between Total cholesterol and HDL, however all the other ratio's are also recorded.  total Cholesterol/HDL should be 3:1, 2:1 is good also good

  Using the US units, Your total cholesterol is high but the ratio is very good.  I'd concentrate on lowing the total (both HDL and LDL).  With Trig.s that low I'll assume you don't eat candy bars.  I wouldn't worry about your Trig.s at all.

  Because the "ratio" is so good I wouldn't worry about your cholesterol but I would change, or add to your diet to lower it.  And that is my take on this and probably am looking at it completely wrong(?).

I am from the US and i apologize for not specifiying that information in my previous posting. It is a little scary about all of this cholesterol stuff because i have had two female friends who have had heart attacks in their late 30's and early 40's.  They had no risk factors but still had blockages.  I guess numbers are just numbers. What goes on inside the human body is always a mystery.

One thing to look at is your blood pressure which is linked to cholesterol, among other things....
