Cholesterols Levels, Coronary Calcium, Statin's

I recently was diagnosed with Atherosclerosis based on a 1223, calcium score.  This lead me down a path of multiple tests; PET scan was mildly abnormal and Echo Stress test that was normal.  I am completely asymptomatic and my doc's (including the ones I saw at Mayo Clinic) tell me to do medical management and life style changes.  I am 43 years old and severely overweight.  Prior to my diagnosis my BP 122/84, cholesterol total 140, LDL 78, HDL 48, Tri 58.  I have now lost 30#, on asrpin (81mg) and simvistatin 10mg, BP 119/74, Total 116, LDL 53, HDL 53, Tri 50.  Is it possible to have you cholesterol too low?  My numbers have always been decent (BP could have been better), but now they seem too good?  How the hell did I get a calcium score of 1223?

I am somewhat in the same boat - my Agatston Score was 1243 four years ago. But I slept easy :) after that because I had the answer, too much Cholesterol. My total Cholesterol was and still is around 264 - no Statins. You are the first person I ever came across with really low Cholesterol and huge amount of Calcium deposits. I know, that's not a lot of help in your case, but certainly one for the record books.

I never took a statin before, aside from family history and weight, all the numbers looked good and my Doc. told me a I didn't need it.  Now, I'm on a statin (very low dose) because of my family history and this calcium score.

did you took statin or other cholesterol drugs before? i think something you are taking either medicine, supplement or dietary thing which is making your cholesterol to go too low. cholesterol is produced by liver so some liver function reducing thing taking. if drinking alcohol then stop it fully.
