Claudication treatment options

Claudication treatment options

My husband, 67, had quadruple bypass surgery eleven years ago and has recently been diagnosed as suffering from intermittent claudication.  He has had this pain for some time.  He had an angiogram last Monday and the vascular surgeon told me, immediately after the procedure,  that he had "significant calcium deposits" and he will "discuss options" with him. Unfortunately my husband was discharged before the vascular surgeon saw him.  I'd just like to know what questions should be asked when he sees the vascular surgeon since clearly putting stents in at the time of the angiogram was ruled out.  Before the angiogram, the vascular surgeon expressed concern that the blockage might not be in the legs but higher up so obviously one key question would be the location.
Thank you for any advice you can give.
