Cognitive Decline associated with CABG

Greetings.  I've been working with an interventional cardiologist for a couple months now, and have failed, or come up positive on, several tests.  Most recently, an angiogram showed I have some blockage in an important area (aka LM).

I'm tentatively scheduled for elective CABG in a couple of weeks.

I've read a bunch about cognitive decline due to CABG and that there are many concerns (some associated with the "pump."

I've also read some newer stuff saying there may not be a real link and that people with Coronary Artery Disease may see declines in IQ/etc regardless of whether or not they have surgery.

Can anyone shed some light on this?  I am relatively young (at least for bypass!) at 34.  I know the alternative may be death, so I'm going to do what I have to do.  But I am very interested in any information on this topic.
