RX: HCTZ 25 MG QD. Prior to event, also took CoregCoreg Coreg cr CR 10 MG PO QD for two days as well as BP had still not decreased.
While at work, I was experiencing a headache for approximately one hour prior to a medical event. Additionally, my earsEar barotrauma Ear discharge Ear emergencies Ear examination Ear tube insertion Ear tube insertion - series became visibly flush and felt very hot. My colleagues, listening to me provide information on a client of ours, were also commenting that I wasn't "making sense". Although I was using correctCorrect (new formula) vocabulary and not speaking in a "word salad", apparently the context and chronology of the report were mixed with that of another client. Soon after, I felt the sensation of the onset of syncope yet I never lost consciousness. I became naseaus, very dizzy and felt an incredible weight on my chest. After feeling the weight, a sensation of heat began in the center of mt chest and radiated out to all limbs. A co-worker, at the onset of the event, said I turned "grey". I was also sweating profusely and completely saturated my clothes. At the same time, I had the overwhelming sensation to purge my bowels but was able - some how - to save myself that embarassment. Being I worked in a psychiatric facility, the medical staff tried taking my vitals. They couldn't locate my BP, my pulse was over 120 and my O2 was 80%.
I was trnasported to the Hospital via Ambulance. While in the ambulance, after receiving O2, my thoughts cleared and my vitals came back to WNL's.
At the ED, I was placed on an EKG and also had a CT scan. Being that I have 1.) Ferrous metal in my chest and am 2.) Allergic to contrast, an MRI or contrast study could not be done.
I was admitted for three days and had Nuclear stress test, various sonagrams (heart, corotid, etc...). They also monitored enzymes.
No evidence of cardiac arrest, disease. No post event issues suggesting a stroke. I was finally D/C'ed and was told perhaps my RX was the cause.
After D/C, I have had a persistent, low grade headache (daily) in the upper/top region of my head. I am fatigued. I also experience (after physical exertion) a sensation in my chest that is similar to the very onset of syncope (Lowering of BP?) yet never actually get dizzy of faint.
