Coreg

by Kristin391, Jun 25, 2007 08:16AM
Does anyone know if Coreg is available in the generic form?  or does anyone know when it will be released as a generic drug?  Coreg CR (the extended release drug is now available and I had heard that the regular coreg would be available as a generic drug..but I have not been able to find it.

Google it, the generic drug goes by the name of "Zolpiderm".

If it is not available currently, it will be very, very soon.  Last I heard it was "about to be" released in generic form.  Many people are jumping for joy, lol

Carvedilol is the generic for coreg.  It is available through a US pharmacy; I was formerly on Coreg and for the last several months I have been on the generic.  I was on Coreg, then Coreg CR (slow release and remains expensive and no generic)...now Carvedilol (Coreg) twice a day rather than Coreg CR once a day!

Kristin,

Glad you found your answer. I was going to suggest a site called medtipster. Through them I find local pharmacies offering generics in my area. It is a great search engine tool! Hope this helps for the future.
