Coronary Angina

by sufferinjoe, Nov 13, 2007 09:18AM
Three months ago I went all breathless at the gym and developed numbness in the little finger and ring finger of my left hand. I have been experiencing a throttling pain around my throat in times of physical / mental stress. I have also had several bouts of searing pain shooting across my chest which recedes in a few minutes. I am 41 and work nights at a call center.
I was found to be severely hypertensive and am currently on diffent drugs to control blood pressure. Amlodipine, Losartan, Metropolol Succinate and Nicorandil. ECGs are normal. Stress test also shows everything to be normal. Eko-color-doppler shows left ventricle has become thick. My cardiologist suspects I may be suffering from Microvascular angina and has suggested a Coronary Angiogram.
Meanwhile my bloodpressure has become normal but the numbness in my fingers continue and get aggravated at times of stress. I am suffering from various side-effects of all these drugs. Any suggestions on what could be wrong? Do I need to do the coronary angiogram to rule out possibilities of a coronary disease?

hi
I too had the same symptoms as you albeit i am 31.  I have been hospitalised twice.  Finally they did the angiogram.  They have ruled out coronary disease but think its microvascular angina.  I am having other tests done as well.

I would have the angio as its the most decisive test.  It is invasive but it will rule it out if not and put your mind at rest.
