Coronary Artery Disease

by Rusty2763, Mar 17, 2009 04:15PM
I had a heart attack one year ago. I just had a stress test yesterday (MYOCARDIAL PERFUSION SCAN, INCLUDING WALL MOTION STUDY AND EJECTION FRACTION) and the Nuclear Medicine report has the following impressions.
1.  Large reversible myocardial perfusion defect in the inferior wall, suggesting stress-induced ischemia.
2.  Small irreversible myocardial perfusion defect in the left ventricular apex suggesting a small area of irreversible infarction.
3.  Hypokinesia of the left ventricular apex.
4.  The calculated left ventricular ejection fraction is 52% which after my heart attack was at 40%.
My Cardiologist is in the process of scheduling heart cath.  What does all this mean?
