Correlation between VSD/ASD Repair and onset of Autism

My little girl had open heart surgery to repair a large VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect) and, also large in size, ASD (Atrial Septal Defect) at 7 months of age. Surgery went well after a 7 month struggle to keep her weight and heath up. She is now a healthy 2 year old. However, she was just recently diagnosed with autism. I have had many people, even doctors who are questioning me about her autism, ask me about her health history. When I mention that she had open heart surgery it's like an "AH-HA!" response...with no answers behind it. Is there any correlation between the two or any statistics that this was a possible outcome?
