Could my symptoms be due to mitral valve prolapse

I'm wondering if my symptoms could be due to mitral valve prolapse. Various echos and stress echos that I've had done say i have trace mitral regurgitation.

My symptoms include:

Rapid heart beat - even at rest
Shortness of breath on exertion - I can walk at a rate of 3.5 miles an hour but without elevation. If I add elevation, I get short of breath and also notice palpitations
Occasional palpitations without excercise
Chest pain - sometimes without excercise and sometimes after over exertion

Have had multiple stress tests done including two nuclear stress tests which have all come back negative. Recent stress echo was done in june where I reached 70% of my heart rate with no symptoms and was given a clean bill of health.

Could my symptoms be due to mitral valve proplapse?

They could, but not because your valve isn't working well.  I think based on your normal echocardiograms there isn't valvular regurgitation.  I am a little concerned why you only reached 70% of your max heart rate.  Are you on beta blockers or other antiarrhythmic meds.  If not your heart rate should be much higher with exercise and this may be the reason why your having fatigue and shortness of breath.  Pts with MV prolapse may develop MVP syndrome where they can experience a constellation of symptoms which you are describing.  There isn't a whole lot that helps for that but other cuases should be ruled out first.

Thank you for the response. Just wanted to clarify that I only reached 70% of my max heart rate as they did not make me walk that long. I probably only walked four minutes or so. I also feel that once I get my heart rate up it takes a while before it goes down. Is that something that could be related to MVP as well?

thanks
