Could this be angina?

by Bne, Dec 08, 1999 12:00AM
Hello Doctor:  I have been noticing a mild / moderate squeezing feeling around my heart and neck.  This sensation can be with me all day.  If I push on my stomach or bend forward it is worse, and if lay back it seems to lessen.  I am wondering is this could be angina or some kind of intestinal or abdominal pain?  I have had a stress echo and other cardiac tests performed that have come out ok.  I know I need to lose about 35-40 pounds and change my diet.  I am a 37 year old male (non smoker). Thanks for any thoughts.

The normal stress tests and your young age make it less likely, though not impossible, that this is angina. It is also not a classical story for angina type symptoms. However, if the symptoms are severe, you ought to let your doctor know.
