Coumadin

Coumadin

I am on Coumadin 5 mg for 2 days and then 2.5 mg the next day.  I had heard that Coumadin affects the wall thickness of the veins that could lead to varicose, damaged or torn veins.  To my understanding, I thought Coumadin is strictly a blood thinner (it inhibits the absorption of vitamin K).  Is someone more likely to develop varicose veins or have veins explode if they are on Coumadin indefinitely?  What is the best way to prevent varicose veins?  I am only 30 and I really don't what this to happen to me.
Thanks and Smiles
Kay

You are correct, coumadin does not affect the veins and does not lead to vericose veins.
