I saw a programme on T.V the other night about the Roman Emporer Hadrian. The expert on there remarked that they knew the cause of his death was heart disease. This was because a bust of Hadrian showes that he had deep creases in the lobes of his ears.
Is it a fact that creases in the lobes of your ear indicates heart disease? I am very well, no blood preasure etc but I do have high cholestoral levels. Howerer I do have a deep line on both my ear lobes. Should I ask the doctor to check for heart disease?
I dont know how true that is , sounds like a old wise tale to me !! but I know a few
people living ,who have deep creases in there ear lobes.. and dont have any sign of heart problems or high blood pressure ? go figure ?? anyways I have creases in my ear lobes
and have high blood pressure problems.. ha ha ! so maybe its true ?
Years ago a old woman , who ran a health food store , took my hand and flipped it over
palm up ! and said here is your lifeline - here is your healthline .. my life was long
my heathline was almost as long ? so why the h.b.p ?
Iv talked to people here and there , and some hippys around sfo area , of the past !!
and they have other things that point out bad health and good health
like bags under the eyes are kidney problems ? and just a bunch of other things !
should you ask the Doctor to check for heart problems or disease ?
well It cant hurt you ! better to safe than sorry ! then you will know if lines in ear lobes
is true or not ? mythbusters ? maybe send to them as well ..
I believe there is some link but definitely not a guarantee you have a problem. It's one of those "people with Y a higher incidence of X" which could mean that instead of 2 in 100 people getting X, 3 in 100 people with Y get X.
I have one creased earlobe and my father's are wickedly creased. He is nearly 70, overweight and no signs of heart problems to date.
Good luck. It's one of those unavoidable things anyway so stick to the avoidables like not smoking.
Happy to ear that , as I got slapped in the right ear lobe ,at work years ago.. caused a crease to happen - the other ear lobe creased on its owne . maybe from thumb sucking and pulling my ears - when I was a baby ? I noticed alot of babys doing that up untill they are 2 yrs old or longer - maybe it can crease the lobes .. wonder would nose picking cause the same ? lol
A German Uboat captain said "We had no mental problems until we brought a Shrink on board". And I have noticed how this is so true at times. There is no problem until we over react and a problem is created.
But I am not convinced the ear lobe debate is false. I read a few years ago about this and asked a friend who is a Doctor, he is nearing the end of his career and is still in demand at his hospital for consultation for the wealth of experience he possesses. He has see and heard it all.
He told me that it is a marker not of illness, but rather that people with the marker are more apt to have heart disease.
I have the marker and have the disease. Stent july 2006.
I have had a turn around in my health though with the advice found in Dr Fuhrmans book "Eat To Live". cholesterol down to 142 ldl 71, hdl 59. blood pressure this morning 102 /54.Was on drugs costing $4500, now $2OO per year, My Dr had to reduce my meds as my numbers kept coming down.Running daily, enjoying life.
The fact that your cholesterol is high would put one on alert as it is one of the major risk
factors directly connected to your heart health.
I have placed my life in the hands of Jesus, I asked for help and have had my health restored. God bless you .
Amen and amen to that. Give it up to Him that heals, giving all the glory to God. I got came home from the hospital recently. Came close this time. Had pnemoccocal pneumonia this time. It wasn't my time. I asked the Lord to take the cigarettes for me. After smoking almost 40 years I have been smoke free for the past 24 days and have no desire to pick one up again. I have a craving, just not the heart to do so anymore. 2 heart attacks and now this told me, that's it. Jesus is holding me up in this. BTW, I have creases at the base of my ear lobes.
I think praying helps anyone who belives ! the Lord hears all !!!
I dont like this modern day medications - as so meny side effects and problems ..
I have come close to deaths door a few times already in my life.. each and every time
I called out God Help me ! he was there for me. and pushed me threw the hard times
its comfort knowing were all loved by God - I do belive fully in healing from our Lord..
but I belive it happens in good time and in Gods time ,not ours ! and we must try to help ourselfs whatever the problem is.
Yesterday I had real bad day, shortness of breath and palpaitions for about 20mins
all due to medications and heat ! a bad reaction ..
I feel better today and no symptoms at all.. im gonna see the doctor today in a few hours . but I know who got me threw this bad time..
it was like a shot in the arm , to read your post.. thank you ..
