Crestor - Low Dose; Should I?

Crestor - Low Dose; Should I?

I am 40, have always had cholesterol in the 115 (LDL) and 50-60 in the HDL range by diet and exercise, and don't have any other markers (C-Reactive protein is ok, trigl. are fine).  I exercise 3-4 times/week, and eat a high fiber diet, and have no other 'markers' according to my Cardiologist...in excellent health.  The problem is family history - with a father who had a heart attack at 38, then died at 46 (and his brothers who died < 50 of heart disease).   My Cardiologist is prescribing low dose Crestor, and I'm on the fence as to whether or not I really need this (and long term side effects from a statin), this early on in my life vs. other natural ways to get my LDLs down.   Thoughts?
