Cuase for Concern?

In an physical for life insurance, my almost 50 year old husband has been told he is high risk due to "EKG abnormalities - Q waves and AVF." There was no explanation as to why this was a problem but evidently insurance companies do not like "Q Waves and AVF." Can someone explain this to me please? Should he see a doctor? Is this a cause for concern?

I would recommend getting a second opinion from a doctor not associated with the insurance company. If they based their decision on a computer generated read-out from an EKG, that would be a big mistake. The computer programs for those are over-sensitive and often state there is a potential problem when really, there isn't. His EKG's should be read by a cardiologist that can sift through the artifacts and explain what, if anything, is going on in there. Plus you two need to know for your own peace of mind.
