Cumidon and heart attach

My bro-in-law had knee replacement 2 1/2 weeks ago and was taking cumidon. Yesterday he had a massive heart attack and had double by-pass surgery. In speaking with others, cumidon and heart attacks seem to be related. Could that have been the culprit?

Only if he went off of the coumadin suddenly.  Then the blood would clot up thicker than before starting Coumadin.  If he had to have a double bypass then he has had blockage for awhile.  Coumadin prevents blood clots by thinning out the blood.  Knee replacement surgery along with any other surgery has the risk of blood clots after surgery.  That is why Coumadin is prescribed after surgery.  How much heart damage did he have?  He will need to take his medication as prescribed once he returns home and will have to watch his diet and be strict about it.  Can't risk another bad heart attack.
