Female, mid 20's. Since I was in primary school I've had chest pains occasionally. There's no real pattern that I've noticed to when it occurs, although, maybe at the time I may be a little stressed/anxious but not by much(in my opinion). The first one I remember was when I was around 10 or so(definitely younger than 12). I still get them and I am wondering why. I don't have the money/insurance for proper tests, but I don't expect any kind of professional diagnosis on here. I'm still alive(obviously) and I've never had serious health problems. I'm just curious since I still get them every once in a while.
I'll try to explain what its like. I would describe it as though there is a hand around my heart and it is squeezing. Everytime I breathe it feels like the "hand" squeezes more and feels like my heart is going to pop/explode. I usually just hold my breath until it goes away. It lasts no longer than a few minutes I would say. I can distinguish this type of chest pain from the other type of chest pain caused by gas which I've only started getting in the past few years - never as a kid.
So, what does it sound like to you?
