Defibs

I have been referred to a cardiologist with a view to implanting a defib. I have a long history of cardiac disease - heart attacks CABG and have experienced bursts VT and palpitations since the op. I have been taking beta blockers for 5 years and have had enough of the side effects! hence the alternatives. What I would like to know is a lot more information about the implant. Is there a web site I can go to? I am 48.

My 9 year old son, who has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy,  had an ICD implanted 3 weeks ago. I too had many questions about ICDs and found some very informative sites. Here are a few that have been the most beneficial to me.
