Diltiziem and Vytorin

What problems occur when taking Diltiazeim and Vytorin. I take Diltiaziem in the morning and Vytorin at bed time.

Because both medicines might utilize the same pathway for activation/metabolism in the body, taking them together might result in an elevated level of simvastatin (part of vytorin) that can result in an increased risk for side effects of this medication (myositis, elevated liver enzymes, etc). If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you should consult your doctor for further evaluation (blood work) as well as indications for lowering the dose or stopping the medicine.
