Discomfort and occasional pop in middle of chest

I hope you guys can ease my mind that this is NOT a heart related issue. Every once in a while (maybe once every couple of weeks), I will feel a pop in the middle of my chest but it feels more like above my sternum in the bone rather that the heart. Monday it popped really hard and actually hurt instead of feeling uncomfortable. Would there be a chance that this is heart related?

There isn't evidence that the popping of your chest area is heart related.  If you have had surgery that opened your chest area, there could be a problem with healing. It may have something to do with cartilage, skeletal chest frame and chest muscles.
