Dizziness

by John, Oct 24, 1999 12:00AM
Dear Sir/madam,

I have been having dizzines for the past 5 weeks.Sometimes, the condition got quite bad with sudden spells of dizziness in the evening.I feel very tired and unable to concentrate and sleep well. Before this illness, I have been sneezing and having running nose.I went to see two doctors and they gave me some medicine for dizziness and blood circulation but not very effective.

Please tell me what has happened to me and how I should get well.
I really have no mood to work and just feel so tired even if I have enough sleep.Kindly reply.Thank you

Yours sincerely,
John

I cannot even say for sure that your condition is cardiac, as there are many medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms. Cardiac possibilities include arrhythmia (irregular  heartbeat), potentially aggravated by the cold medications that you are taking. Less likely, you have developed a cardiomyopathy (a weak heart). If you are feeling so bad, you really ought to go to your doctor for a thorough evaluation.

My husband had heart by-pass in January, and has been dizzy ever since.  After going to doctor after doctor, a MRI showed a mild stroke.  I'M NO DOCTOR, but maybe....  Don't stop going to the doctor if the dizziness continues, keep trying to find out your answer.  The neurologist said my husband should recover.  Hopefully you will to.  On the flip side, maybe its a inner ear problem.  Anyway, here's two things that could cause dizziness.

Check out http://www.teleport.com/~veda/ for more information on dizziness.  There is also a support mailing list on the page.  I have fought dizziness for 4 years.  I just got diagnosed with Grave's disease and my PTU treatment seems to be helping it.  I get RAI in 2 weeks for the permanent fix.

The key is to continually search for an answer, try seeing a neuro-otologist.

Best of luck to you.  If you want you can e-mail me directly at joseph.***@**** if yo have any questions.
