Dizzyness and leaking mitral valve

Good day I'm a 45 yr old male and I have a leaking mitral valve. I was 6yrs old when I had rheumatic fever. I have been treated by a cardiologist. Currently I'm taking a tablet called ZIAK and also a duiretic. Lately I have been getting a lot of dizzy spells and light headedness. It doesn't happen when I do something specific but it can occur at any time. My ankles are also swollen a lot more. I also sometimes get a dull pain in my chest that will last a while and sometimes I will feel the pain right into my back. Also get a lot of headaches. I will appreciate any advise asap. Thank you

In clinical studies, diarrhea, fatigue, and dizziness were the most common side effects reported with Ziac. That is to treat hypertension and the duiretic is to reduce fluids that appear to be the reason for swollen ankles.

You have symptoms of a heart condtion that may not be pumping strong enough to prevent blood backing up into the tissues causing edema of the lower peripherals.  You should have that condition ruled out.

Thanks for your question and if you have any further questions or comments you are welcome to respond.  Take care,
