Does anyone take Metoprolol 25mg, and experience bad side effects?

I recently had an episode of rapid heartbeat. At my second ER visit the doctor started me on metoprolol tart 25mg twice a day, which I took it that way for 2 full days. Then I seen my regulars doctor and she reduced this to one a day in the morning. I have only been on this medication for 7 days. I have experienced tingling in my legs, pressure in my head, takes time for eyes to focus on things, jittery, pain in my chest area and back, and in the morning my heart rate is usually high when I get up anywhere from 110-130. Is this a normal reaction to this medication? My doctor thinks my rapid heart rate is due to severe anemia and possible hyperthyroidism. So she may stop this medication completely due to me haveing a normal chest X-ray, 4 normal EKGs, and halter monitor showed normal sinus rhythms even with rapid heart rate. The doctor also started me on Xanex, which I try to only take at bedtime.

Many people report side effects from Metoprolol when they start with this medication.
In most people the side effects go away after taking the medication for a few weeks.

Thank you for responding to my question. I have also looked up a few post/comments from people who have taken this medication and in general there haven't been to many good things said about it. So I figured it didn't hurt to investigate some more.
Do not draw your conclusions to lightly.
People posting here are often the ones that experience problems with the medication and are looking for alteratives.

I can not judge if in your case it is wise to continue or to stop, but Metoprolol and all the others from the beta blocker family have proven their use in many patients.
