Dor Procedure for Ischemic Cardiomyopathy

by Linda-Oline, Nov 22, 1998 12:00AM

  Dear Sir,
I saw the Dor Procedure mentioned for ischemic cardiomyopathy and was very interested. It is rare to find the diagnosis mentioned with a new hope attached to it.I have tried calling the 800 # and the machine only answers"marketing" and I leave a message.I am probably being impatient and I do apologize for that.Linda O.

Dear Linda,
Thank you for your question.   The Dor procedure involves removing a section of scared myocardium and is still experimental in nature.  Only a very select subgroup of patients qualify.  If you would like to be evaluated here to see if you qualify you can call the number below to make an appointment with the heart failure section.  You should be able to get through during normal business hours.
I hope you find this information useful.  Information provided in the heart forum is for general purposes only.  Only your physician can provide specific diagnoses and therapies.  Please feel free to write back with additional questions.
If you would like to make an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE or inquire online by using the Heart Center website at www.ccf.org/heartcenter.  The Heart Center website contains a directory of the cardiology staff that can be used to select the physician best suited to address your cardiac problem.
