EF

I am a 30 Year Male and I had shortness of breath so I went to the hospital.  They did all of the Test and on the Eco it showed my EF at 37% so they started me on Cavaderal, Linsapril, Lasix, and Aspirin.  Then they did the heart cath about a week and half later and my EF was 15 – 20% Now 3 months I just did a another eco and my EF is now 27%

My question is if my EF was 37% before the meds and now lower after the meds why am I on the meds.  I do understand the lasix to keep water off of me but it is hard for me to understand why I am taking this stuff that makes me sleepy all of the time if it is making me worse? Please help.

The medications are not going to make your condition worse unless you have an unusual reaction to them. You say you had a heart cath, did they do any work on your arteries at
that time? Do they believe your EF is due to ischemia?

No I have Non-ischemic Cardio Myopathy.  Which means no blockage.
