Thank-you for your response. I did find out from my Echo that I have rheumatic heart disease, The platlets are stable but still high and I guess my Dr is just going to watch them, She said the hematologists don't want to see patients untill the platelets are 550, I have my Cardo appt tomorrow and I will ask him also if this is dangerous to have these platelets be high when there is already blockages. This is just a worrysome time, as I was very tired and short of breath all weekend, Not really short of breath but like I couldn't get that deep breath. Also the beta blocker is making me feel like I have brain fog, even tho it is a very low dose. I used to like to sew and garden, and I just don't have any ambition . I am really in a slump!
I have had PVCs since I was young and they haven't killed me yet so, I have learned that a lot of outside factors cause those nasty things , especially stress.
My stress teast came back normal. Haven't heard about the echo yet. Can you have a normal stress test and still have heart problems?
smp,
Thanks for the post.
I would be less concerned about your coronary blockages and more about why your platelets and are high. In the short term, there is no immediate danger from the elevated counts, however, there may be some underlying reason they are elevated.
Generally this would fall more into the realm of a hematologist and would start with your internal medicine physician or a hematologist to pursue. Good luck!
