EKG improvements

I have had missing beats since high school (35 yrs ago)always at times of high stress.  I had an ekg then.  The doctor said I just had some electrical disturbance and it was not a cause for worry.  It has caught me off gaurd at times but I have never really worried about.  I have year around allergies and have never felt very good.  Always tired, etc. I actually feel better now than I ever remember.  I got really stressed over last weekend and started having missed beats.  I decided to have them checked out.  They say the EKG shows an old infarction (sp?)  I have never had any symptoms ever.  They are going to do a holter monitor tomorrow and then an echocardiagram next week.  Also, they don't think the current missing beats are related at all.  Is it possible that newer technology has discovered something that was missed that many years ago or could it be an error?  I am really puzzeled.  I don't have any family history, and my diet has been very good for a number of years.  If I understood correctly, the problem is in the lower right part of the heart as view from the front.  Any comments would be appreciated.

It is possible you have had a "silent" infarction but unlikely.  Most likely this is a false positive.  The follow up tests your doctor has ordered should answer the question.
