EKG results

Posted By Karen on July 05, 1999 at 12:27:58
My husband suspected that he had a heart attack about 3 years ago.  It took over 1 year for the pain to go away.  He has not had chest pains for over 2 years, however he has some shortness of breath and some loss of energy.  During this time he was too scared to go to a doctor.  Two weeks ago he had no choice and had to go to a doctor, as he got a kidney stone lodge in his ureter.  An operation was scheduled and EKG routinely done.  On day of out-patience surgery, the anesthesiolgist came in.  He commented that the EKG had showed evidence of a past heart attack.  He would not put my husband completely under, but, gave him a spinal.  While in the hospital I saw this on his chart. (could not read some of the handwriting).
EKG- QRS(T) contour abnormal consistent & anter?????? infact.
Can you give me some clue what this means?  How accurate is the EKG?
Thank YOU, Karen
