EP Study

After two attempts to induce my VT during EP studies, my doctor have given up.  Now I am on meds to band aid the problem.  Why can he not induce the arrythmia?  I have an area on the front of my heart and on the back of my heart.

Non-inducibility of arrhythmias at EP study is a frustrating problem for the patient and electrophysiologist. While your particular diagnosis (i.e. type of VT, heart function etc) are unknown to me, let me make a few general points.
Firstly, have you had definited documented VT?
Secondly, did you discontinue antiarrhythmic medications before the EP study? Taking antiarrhythmics will decrease the inducibility of arrhythmias and they are normally stopped a few days beforehand. If you have taken amiodarone, this requires much longer to wash out.
How symptomatic or frequent is the problem? For very rare episodes of VT, or episodes that are not very symptomatic, it may be reasonable to continue with medical therapy. If the episodes are frequent, it may be worth another attempt at EPS. Depending on the type of VT, it may also be possible to perform a procedure in the absense of sustained VT.
