EP Study

I recently had an EP study and nothing could be induced.  I guess that it quite a good thing they told me?  I suffer from PVC's and PAC's and feel every one of them.  I am trying to figure out why I get these things.  I remember in my 20's I had a really bad bout of the flu (nothing like I have ever had before).  I was sick for a full week.  I was wondering if in some way that would have damaged my heart?  I also had some sort of heart inflammation lining in my 20's from too much excerise.  The doc put my on something it and it seems to be okay after that.  I can't pin point exactly when I started getting these but it has been going on for 20 years now.

Would an EP study have showed if I have scar tissue on my heart?  Would it have showed if I had some sort of electrical problem?  I really didn't get any answers after going for it.  I thought I would get the PVC's fixed and get on with my life.

Also they told me I have slight regurtation.  Apparently it quite normal?  Would that be considered MVP?

Also I keep on reading that occasional PVC's are okay.  Would let's say one per hour  be normal then?

PVC ablation should be an option since you feel every PVC. However since they couldn't induce any they were unable to find the source of the PVCs or PACs. I am not sure what workup has been done in your case to find the source of the PVCs: have you had a cath or stress test? If so these would tell you if you have scar or ischemia as a cause fo these symptoms. If your heart function is normal, then the PVCs do not have any life altering implications, apart from the discomfort they may cause you. You could also be started on anti arrhythmics to suppress these, and I do not know if this has been tried in your case.
MVP is a specific diagnosis based upon retrograde excursion of the mitral valve, and it may cause mild or even severe regurgitation depending on its severity.
