EXPERIENCING PAIN WITH PALPITATIONS

I RECENTLY HAD AN ELECTROCORDIAGRAM AND STRESS TEST DONE TO DIAGNOSE PAIN IN MY CHEST WITH MY LONGSTANDING PALPITATIONS. NOTHING SHOWED UP AND THE CORDIOLOGIST TOLD ME  TO LET MY FAMILY DOCTOR PURSUE THE POSSIBILITY OF ESOPHOGICAL PROBLEMS OR CHEST WALL PROBLEMS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF PAIN IS EVER CONNECTED, IN A BENIGN WAY, WITH PALPITATIONS?

Dear Thelma,

Sometimes people interpret the extra forceful beats of a palpitation as pain.  However, i would follow up with your GI work up.

I also get chest pains, sometimes associated with palpitations and sometimes just by themselves.  My pains are usually very short - sharp pains that last only seconds.  I have been complaining to my doctor and cardiologist for a while now; no one knows what the cause is although I have had quite a few heart tests with benign results.  It's been suggested that it might just be muscle or tissue spasms in the left breast area.  Hm...
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that there are others who share similar problems. Good luck!
