Early tricuspid regurgitation

Early tricuspid regurgitation

I am a 28 year old female with no history of cardiac disease. Recently I got an Echocardiogram done on me by a friend adn found out that I had early regurgitation of the tricuspid valve with higher pulmonay tension and I also have tachycardia.  I do drink couple cups of coffee and a soda a day and I am not obese and lead a fairly helathy lifestyle. I do have family history of hypertension and diabetes but no cardiac family history.
Should I be concerned?

Its not unusual nor a concern to have some valve leakage.  If your heart rate is sustained over 100 at rest, that could indicate a medical problem.  I'm not sure what you mean by pulmonary "tension", but I  assume pulmonary hypertension.... If pulmonary hypertension is present, further evaluation may include assessment of oxygenation, pulmonary function testing, high-resolution computed tomography of the chest, ventilation-perfusion lung scanning and cardiac catheterization...worst case scenario.

As an insight pulmonary hypertension is a complex problem characterized by nonspecific signs and symptoms and having multiple potential causes. It may be defined as a pulmonary artery systolic pressure greater than 30 mm Hg or a pulmonary artery mean pressure greater than 20 mm Hg.

Thank you for the response. With the echocardiogram, my heart beat did stay all the time over 110. I do not have any symptoms regarding it although I do at times have palpitations that I have noticed.

A heart rate sustained for a period of time at rest and over 100 bpm and palpitations could be an arrhythmia disorder and would require a proper dx and doctor consultation, or it could be due to stress taking  the test or other non-heart related condition. If a medical problem sometimes beta blocker medication is prescribed and effective.
