I agree with cindy707, with this caveat... When I had my first heart attack, I decided that exercise and diet alone would solve my problems and rejected prescription drugs and followed a holistic approach.  My EF was in the same 30% range.  Following the holistic approach, my EF dropped lower and had two additional heart attacks.  After my seventh stent I mixed in conventional medications but continued weight loss and exercise, and I haven't had a heart attack since.  My EF fraction rate is now in the 40% range.
I would strongly suggest you take the route of conventional medications, but keep exercise and diet in the process to heal your heart.

I think that the most important issue here if you have been diagnosed w. an EF in the 30% range is to follow the instructions of the doc however one of the main points of increasing your EF is thru lifestyle changes i think that there are alot of options out there for anyone however any option chosen needs to be done under the supervision of your physician so that he/she can ensure that any holistic approach you chose it is not counter active to your treatment plan.  You may want to research thru med sites the recommended lifestyle changes that are encouraged to increase the flow of blood in and out of the heart and the pressure needed to maintain you within normal limits.  I would def. consider calling the doc..tell them that you are not that excited about going the pharmacutical route and what do they suggest as an alternative.....good luck and hope i was a little helpful.....
