External pacers 'arcing' above me. HELP !!!

The PA-C hooked the external pacers on my chest and they came on without warning me. I bit my tongue. There were like "lightning bolts" about 5 inches above me zapping back & forth. Is this normal? I can't ask the PA-C since he has since left the state and elected not to renew his license. My original complaint was I got exposed to "pure" muriatic acid vapors while washing my cement mixer truck at work. 115 degree + temp. outside & could see & smell vapors. Got light headed & weak whithin 10 minutes.
Both arms were weak. Drove home 12 miles. Vomited clear fluid.
Went to local clinic "Urgent care" where PA-C said he thought I had a heart attack. Did not give me any oxygen. Gave me S/L Nitro & IV Nitro. Blood pressure dropped to low & was put upside down. Then hooked the external pacers up. Don't remember anything else til getting loaded into helecopter. Never had any chest pain. Was told I had a M.Infarction with 100% blockage of Right coranary artery. Went in for "salvage" & was stinted. Died a total of 4 times. Age 43 Family history of high blood pressure, smoker, 5'10", 210 LBS, snoar, sleap apnea, high cholesterol, beer drinker. Don't understand what really happend to me. Could the "muriatic acid" constricted my R.C.A. ??? Also supervising doctor also left clinic. He was MD & PA-C was licensed under "MIA" D.O. (PA-C unsupervised). Help !!!

Also I was having a very hard time breathing. While in the hospital was told I had walking pneumonia. Was treated with abuterol 5 times a day. I still have problems at the bottom of my neck. Have trouble swallowing & choke easy & often. Could this be damage from the muriatic acid?  Was also told I have moderate damage to the heart on the bottom inside.

Sorry to hear about this situation. From my interpretation you were exposed to muriatic acid.  You then developed lightheadednes and weakness followed by nausea and vomiting. You went to a local clinic and was told that you had a heart attack. You received nitroglycerin, your blood pressure dropped and you were life flighted to another hospital with external pacers. You subsequently received a coronary stent.

I can't be sure exactly what happened but let me explain what may have happened. It is likely that you had prior blockages in your heart arteries which resulted in your heart attack. Nitroglycerin is used to dilated the arteries in this setting but also  lowers the blood pressure, especially during a heart attack associated with blockages of the right coronary artery. During this your heart rate may have also dropped which is why they placed the external pacers. People will feel the pacing as you did with external pacers. It is possible that a constriction of the artery could cause this, however your doctors should be able to distinguish this during your catheterization from a blockage due to coronary artery disease.

I performed a search involving muriatic acid and there are no reported studies linking it with arterial constriction.  I think you had some prior blockages which caused your heart attack and it is difficult to say what role the muriatic acid played.

Thanks for your question,
