Extrasystole after bypass and PTCA

Extrasystole after bypass and PTCA

I am male 65 years old. Already got a bypass 10 years ago and got PTCA 1 month ago. But why now I still got extrasystole ? I sometimes got extrasystole for almost 10 years but not regularly. Not only when active but also when i'm asleep (after detected by holder). Sometimes I got extrasystole everyday for a week and sometimes not for a month.
What's the cause and what should I do to recover ?
How dangerous is it?

Dear johan,

Extrasystole beats are "extra" heartbeats which occur outside of the ususal timing of the cardiac rhythm.  Usually these are PVCs or PACs.  In general single PVCs or PACs are benign and harmless and nothing in specific needs to be done.  Your doctor can give you more information if anything needs to be done in your particular case.
