I've been through all of this, yoga (it's good but for constant relief, no, unless you are willing to do yoga everyday for probably the rest of your life), meditation, pills, pills, pills, supplements, support groups, therapy, books...you name it, I've probably done it. BUT I have found a key ingredient that has seriously helped me rid of these symptoms. It's magnesium. It's not JUST MAGNESIUM, it's a special kind of magnesium. Check out Dr. Carol Dean's website. She'll explain it in detail. I take Magnesium Glycinate chelated, half tablets when I need more relief, but I drink magnesium powder called Albion magnesium chelated and sip on it all day long to help my body to absorb slowly and not cause diarrhea. (she has answers for that too....it's a balancing act specifically made for YOU) Dr. Carolyn Dean suggests ReMag. I have not tried that kind yet but someday I might. I have just started this regimen about 3 weeks ago and it's WONDERFUL, great results. It's a miracle! And I have looked for answers for YEARS and YEARS...since I was 13 years old when I had my first episode. Now I'm 60....don't wait for it to do damage to you because adrenaline will change your life for the worse. But this magnesium will change your life for the better! I had so many side effects from all those medications and all those things just caused more anxiety and poorer health. I wasn't enjoying life, I spent most of it trying to rid myself of adrenaline! What a waste! I love this now!!! Blessings to you!.

hi there, i had the exact same problem, adrenaline running through the roof at night, weird feeling in chest, heart pounding. did all my thyroid and andrenaline gland tests and everything come back fine until i started to get sick especially at night, told the  doctor and found out it was a stomach ulcer what was causing the problem it felt like adrenaline but it was the acid in my stomach that made me feel like i was rushing, all fatty foods like pizza take away would make heart pound but it was my stomach ulcer that was causing my body at night to feel like that, especcially if going bed on a empty stomach that would be a real nightmare but got sorted and after 4 weeks i was feeling great, hope this helps

I've been having the same issue for the past four months.  My heard pounds constantly--all day and all night.  I can't sleep because of the pounding.  It's so uncomfortable.  I've had the full round of cardiac tests--24-hour Holter monitor twice, tests for mitral valve prolapse, electrolyte levels...everything comes back normal.  I'm desperate to make the pounding stop so that I can get some sleep.  Also had full round of endocrine tests.  I don't know where else to turn.

How is your BP?  Before I was on BP meds I used to get severe spikes, and my heart was pounding real hard with occasional skipping, but the heart rate was hardly increased, but the beats were very hard and strong like an adrenaline rush.

Is your pulse faster during this period of heart beat awareness or the same as it was before this started?

If its faster it sounds like adrenal secreted from emotional stress.......

If the pulse is the same but feels like its harder or driven by adrenaline you could have a vagal component to the issue here.......especially with skipped beats.......

If it is consistent then get a 24 halter monitor to wear to capture some of the skipped beats and have an electrocardiologist review it to see if there are any vagal components to the extrapoles.......

Hope it helps.

I agree it sounds like stress.  I feel that way when I'm overwhelmed.
