I had quadruple bypassHeart bypass surgery Heart bypass surgery - series surgery 3 months ago. Two weeks ago they removed 1600cc of fluid from my left lung which took shortness of breathBreath alcohol test Breath holding spell Breath odor away and I feel good. Yesterday they took another 1500cc from the lung. It is only in left lung and they have done biopsy and all is negative. They feels they got almost all of the fluid on this second attempt. I am curious. How many cc's of fluid can a lung hold at one time?
Quite a bit, I have seem as much as two liters. We usually don't take out more than a couple of liters because or the risk for re-expansion pulmonary edema.
