Foot Swelling & pain

I had bypass surgery September 2009 and the vein was taken out of my lower left leg.  The last 3 days my left foot has been swelling and I can't put a shoe on.  If I stretch my foot forward it is quite painful.  I believe the swelling is starting to go up the leg. My ankle is also swollen.  What would cause this?

There may be a blood clot you have all the sympoms and signs.  In addition there has been prior injury with the harvested vein. You should contact a doctor.
