Forceful Heart Beat

by sandra kimmel, Nov 04, 1999 12:00AM
With aortic insufficiency, mod. to severe, I have periods which last for weeks that my heartbeat seems to be normal and quiet and then periods when it seems to be more forceful.  Also, at times during the normal quiet heartbeat period, I will have a forceful heartbeat maybe every ten or so beats that I seem to feel in my throat.  Is this normal for aortic insufficiency and is this an indication that my heart is starting to show signs of deteriorating or will this cause it to deteriorate soon?  My echo in April showed my heart as normal but should I be worried about these palpataions?  I'm taking 60 mg. Adalat and feel good otherwise.

Thanks for the information!

I doubt it is related to your aortic insufficiency.  More than likely these are PVCs.
