Frequency and severity of valvular regurgitation

Frequency and severity of valvular regurgitation

Is the quote "...almost everyone has some blood leakeage from his/her valves..." accurate?  Is it normal to see minor aortic valvular regurgitation nad trace to trivial mitral valve regurgitation, on otherwise healthy individuals? Do readings like that predispose soemone to heart failure or reduced quality of life?
What about healthy life expectancy?

Do others in this forume have had these kind of readings on an echo cardiogram, how long ago and how do you feel?

Thank you

Thank you,

I was mostly worried about the mild aortic regurgitation finding on the echo.

Thank you both for your help.

Trace isn't even considered a problem.
When you say minor, do you mean mild? If so that isn't a problem
either. Your doctors should explain all this to you. Not that they always do, but they should. There are people running around out there in their dottage who have no symptoms at all with moderate. I believe some people take BP meds with this condition, but not all. The thing to do is find out how often you should have an echo.
There are some excellent articles on the net regarding both mitral and aortic regurgitation. Check them out.

Thank you. Do you happen to remember the name of the articles that discuss the mild aortic regurgitation?
