Fused Tricuspid valve

by John, Jan 10, 2001 12:00AM
I have been diagnosed with a fused Tricuspid vale that is begining to deteriorate. I am an extremely active 36 year old male, I run marathons (including Columbus), swim, bike, lift weights, ect.
I am trying to find someone who can tell me what to expect from this disease, what I should or shouldn't continue to do and maybe put me in touch with others in the same situation.
This web page has already been a great learning tool for me and I look forward to any help that you could offer.

Sincerely,

John

This is an uncommon condition. In the absence of symptoms, periodic follow-up by a cardiologist would be prudent. If the valve deteriorates and you become symptomatic, surgery may be necessary, though it is impossible to predict when and if the valve will deteriorate to that point.
