Gatorade and PVC's

When I'm sick... I always drink Gatorade. It's about the only thing I can hold down. SO- when the PVC's started- I figured "what the hay...."

When I drank the Gatorade, they really really decreased. The PVC's get so bad at bedtime. I tried the Gatorade before I went to sleep and slept like a baby.

I also have to say I have Graves Disease. No teling what can be "off"....

Does Gatorade make any sense to you all- why that would make me feel better?!

It is probably the fact that it's replacing your electrolytes. You may have low electrolytes which are causing your PVCs and Gatorade has electrolytes in it which are possibly helping your PVCs!

You mean this could be an electrolyte issue?!
All this trouble for THAT. Ugh.
How can I get my electrolytes tested?!

Your doctor can test them with a routine blood test.  Actually, electrolyte issues would not be that bad...at least maybe you would know what is causing your PVCs and how you can help them by taking supplements for your potassium and magnesium levels.  What sucks is not having a clue what is causing these stupid things and/or how you might get rid of them!  :)

Gatorade makes mine worse, unless I am dehydrated or ill.

you are probably a bit dehydrated.. it could be an electrolyte issue, but i doubt it.. Generally you have to be severly dehydrated or overly hydrated before you see a severe induced electrolye imbalance.. Like, no longer producing spit kind of dehydrated...  Or maybe gatorade is just like a comfort food to you :) Milk always seems to "cure" what ails me.

No, not dehydrated. maybe it just helps. it all boils down to a thyroid issue I think

He has me on atenolol for 4 weeks. I'm supposed to see him when I run out. Maybe I can ask for a test then.

Gatorade is a high glycemic source.....meaning it raises blood sugar quickly.......that is a no no for most people who have palps.........

It is designed to take after exercise to replenish when the body is most succeptable to take in sugar to replace it in the muscle tissue...........but any other time is just sugar water that is unhealthy to drink and raises the heart rate........that sugar will be stored as fat if there is no demand from a post workout for muscles to store up the sugar from it........
