George Bush heart

Posted by Janet Carmine on May 08, 1999 at 18:38:26
Both of my parents died of heart disease. My two older brothers both have heart problems.  One of the doctors told my brother he has a "George Bush heart."  When I had surgery a year ago, they monitored my heart closely, saying there were irregularities.  I am a 54-year old, non-smoking woman who eats well.  Should I be concerned?  What, if any action, should I take?

Dear Janet,
I'm not sure exactly what a George Bush heart is.  Does your brother have any thyroid conditions?  Does he have atrial fibrillation?  Do you know what kind of irregularities they noticed on your ECG?
