HBP and Prinivil

Posted by Dan on May 27, 1999 at 12:08:34
I heard that Prinivil (Lisinopril) - a drug used in treating HBP may also be helpful in the treating of Diabetics.  Can anyone give any further information about this?
If this is true I would like to know how a HBP is able to help Diabetics? Can someone help me with this?
Thanks
Dan

Dear Dan
Medicines like prinivil are useful in preventing progression of kidney disease in diabetics who show early signs of this complication. The medicines work by decreasing the pressure inside the kidneys.
I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back.
