HDL cholesterol

Is there any way to raise HDL without using medications?  What foods or supplements may help to raise HDL?
Thank You

The two main non-pharmacologic methods to raise HDL cholesteol are exercise and red wine.  The exercise should be at least 40 minutes most days of the week.  One half glass red wine a day is sufficient but if you do not currently drink alcohol may not be worth starting.
