: I'm going to be having heart surgert there at the Cleveland Clinic the first part of Dec.  I have HCM obstrutive.  They are going to "shave path" as the Dr said, in the heart muscles for the blood flow and possible repace a valve.  I haven't been told what to expect in surgery or much of anything else about the surgery.  Can you explain some?
I would like to say you Drs. at Cleveland are wonderful.  I can't do much of anything without getting all out of breath.  However my Dr here said that my HCM wasn't that bad and that it was all due to lung problems.  Thus I went to Cleveland and was checked out by Dr. Lever.  He had my lungs checked out and it was found to be no problems with my lungs, but that my HCM was pretty bad.  I almost cried when some finally believed what I was trying to say and was willing to help.
  Thanks again
