Heart Disease and Sex

I suffered heart attack  on 15th Jan 2012 and as per Discharge Summary - the ECG revealed sinus rhythm, ST elevation in LI, aVL, V6. O/E PR 84/per minute, BP 140/100. Systemic Examination: CVS, S1, S2 +, RS: NVBS+, P/A: Soft, CNS: NFND.
Family History of CAD, NIDDM Type2,
I was thrombolysed with STK and managed with Heparin, Anti Platelets, nitrates, antacids, and statins.  I underwent CCT Angio and the Angio findings were:
1. Calcium Score 386
2. multiple discrete hard plaques in Proximal LAD (Segment 6) with 50 to 60% focal stenosis. Soft Plaque in distal LAD (Segment 8) with 20-30% Focal Stenosis
3. Ostiproximal Soft Plaque seen in medial side branch of OM2 with 20-30% focal stenosis
4. Mixed Plaque in Proximal RCA (Segment 1) with 30-40% Focal Stenosis. Diffuse Mild Disease of RCA with Luminal irregularity.
After one week I underwent TMT without any problems. The findings are: Max HR attained: 125bpm, Max BP: 150/104, Max Workload attained: 8.2 Fair response to induced stress, Test End reasons: Fatigue, Leg Pain, SOB.
My doctor prescribed me Gliclazide-15mg-1(1/2 of 30mg), Nerveup OD-1, Aspirin (75mg)+Clopilet-1, Metoprolol XL -1, Sorbitrate – bid, atorvastatin-1,

My Age is 48 years. I AM HAVING ERECTIONS DAILY DURING SLEEP AND DAYTIME ALSO. Now my question is whether i can participate in SEX(Intercourse) now. pl. advise me.

What caught my eye was "I get erections during sleep and daytime also" Lucky man!! Use the erections and have fun. I agree with Ed (although consulting your doc might be a good idea) - sex is great exercise and it's fun. What more can you ask? :-)

I am not a Doctor, but looking at your results, I would say sex would be a good exercise. Your heart attack was a clot, cleared by anti clotting agents and wasn't due to plaque. The biggest blockage in your arteries is a 50-60% forming at the top of the LAD which isn't too severe. At the end of the day, it's like any exertion, just listen to your body. If you get any chest pains, then slow down or stop for a few seconds. My personal opinion would be go for it.
